Christmas Project

This project will be a major test grade in both science and social studies.
It is due Friday, December 14.

1. Choose any country in the world. I do not want repeats, so send a note with the country your child will do by Wednesday, December 5. It will be first come, first serve in picking countries, so you may want to choose an alternate.

2. The science portion: Research the climate of the country. Know generally what type of weather it has. Know specifically what the weather is like around Christmas. Know what habitat(s) are in the country (rain forest, desert, woodland forest, Arctic, grassland)

3. Research at least 2 special Christmas customs or traditions for the country. Also research at least 5 basic facts about the country (languages, continent, flag, etc.)

4. Visual Aid: You need a poster or some other kind of visual aid to display the information. To make 100%, it needs to be very nice. All handwritten parts must be in the student's handwriting. If you have artifacts from the country, we would love you to share them with us.

5. Presentation: Each child will need to speak for at least 3 minutes about their countries. Part of the grade will depend on how well the students listen to each other's presentations.

6. Extra credit: You may prepare a food item from the country for our Christmas party the last week before the break.

Your child will lose 10 points for every day that the project is late. If it is not turned in before we leave for Christmas break, then your child will receive a zero.
