Multicultural Week
This week is Multicultural Week for the lower school. Each class has chosen a country to study this week. Our class voted to study South Korea. On Friday all classes will bring sample foods from the country they study. I will have a sign-up list located outside the classroom door.
You must sign up for the food you will bring. Please, please sign up by Wednesday, to ensure that our class will have enough food to share!!!

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a restful holiday! Last week was a good start to the new year.
In math, we will be continuing to work on multiplication facts for 0-5. We are also starting addition with carrying.
In reading, our school is now connected to Renaissance Place, the online version of Accelerated Reader. We now have access to many more books, so some of the books your child has at home may qualify as A.R. books now.
We will be going to see the Seussical at Davis Theater on February 13. I'm sending home field trip forms today.
For this semester, nightly reading is required. Nightly reading will count as 10% of the reading grade. There will be no more prizes for nightly reading. Now students will receive prizes for their AR points. By now daily reading should be a habit.
